Most peoples are using it for business communications and purposes. Now, Whatsapp has launched a security feature for users to keep their data safe. It's too easy to activate & enable this feature. But, Before using and keeps hope for this new feature, your smartphone should have passed some conditions. IF you don,t have the following features on your device. You haven't got this feature.

Mobile should have a Fingerprint scanner sensor, Then you can use it for whatsapp also
Your whatsapp must be updated, If not, then go to Google Play Store and update it.
If your device doesn't have a fingerprint scanner and able for an official Whatsapp fingerprint lock. But you want to secure your Whatsapp data, You must Download Fouad GBWhatsApp and set Pattern/PIN lock.

This Whatsapp fingerprint security will only activate and enable when you set a screen lock to your device. And also have added fingerprints to the device. first of all, go to the em setting and enable a screen lock with a fingerprint scanner.

How to enable Whatsapp fingerprint lock :

Enable the Whatsapp fingerprint lock in the official Whatsapp as the following simple steps are also shown in the images. 

  1. Open the official Whatsapp app and tap on the option (three-dot) button. A mini-slide will show.

  2. Select and Tap on Settings and go to the official Whatsapp setting.

  3. Tap on the Account Option for privacy and security.

  4. Again Tap on the first option Privacy. And scroll down the page until the option is seen.

  1. Select the fingerprint lock and tap once on a toggle to enable Whatsapp fingerprint lock.

  2. Then verify your Identity by scanning a fingerprint recorder in the system settings. Once it scans your Whatsapp fingerprint lock will have enabled.

Now you will get three options to select. These function are as follows

  • Immediately :  It will aks fingerprint every time when you open whatsapp immidiately. It will lost fingerprint data immediately.


  • After 1 minute :  When you leave whatsapp and opens under 1 minute. It won't ask for whatsapp fingerprint lock. but after 1 minutes, it'll neccessary to give whatsapp fringerprint lock.

  • After 30 minutes : When you leave whatsapp and opens under 30 minutes, It won't ask for whatsapp fingerprint lock. but after 30 minutes, it'll neccessary to give whatsapp fringerprint lock.

When you open a whatsapp and ask for fingerprint, It will only pass the fingers which were scaned earlier for screen lock. If you want to add fingerprints to unlock whatsapp fingerprint lock by those fingers also. Visit system setting and add these in biometrics/fingerprints.

How to disable Whatsapp fingerprint lock :

Sometimes Whatsapp fingerprint lock does not work properly. So many of you decided to disable this feature. But you don't know "How". Now let's see how to disable Whatsapp fingerprint lock.

Follow these simple steps to disable Whatsapp fingerprint lock :
  • Follow the above mention first 4 points used for enabling Whatsapp fingerprint lock.

  • Scroll down and tap on the fingerprint lock.

  • Tap on the toggle to disable unlock with a fingerprint.
